For LAN6 (which starts tomorrow) we want to have an FTP server, the best suited to do this job was Whitefall as it has 2 gigbit ports, which can have a static IP each, although the HDD isnt fast enough to saturate 2 gigbit ports, it will benefit from using 2 ports instead of one.

the past couple of weeks ive been trying to get a good stable distro onto my eee. Now im not really fussed about the distro i use so i set some simple rules for what i need the distro to do:
Have X and XFCE or Gnome, preferabbly gnome.
Support all the hardware in the eee (WIRELESS!!!!!!)

Sorry for the downtime over the weekend. My modem died and went to silicon heaven, and i put an old router inplace of the modem and firewall. This unfourtunatley didnt have any of the port forwards setup so port 80 didnt get any responses from whitefall.
